In my very first post I mentioned political parties. I thought it only fitting that I do my second post on why I don't associate with any particular political party.
Political parties are pretty useless. Okay, they help organize the candidates into nice little groupings and make it so that we aren't trying to figure out who to vote for from hundreds of potentials.
But, my problem is that too often political parties are causing greater and greater divisions in our society. They are telling the masses what to think.
Whether you are a Republican or a Democrat, if you look at the initial statements for each you will agree with pretty much everything. They are vague. And, that is how they trap you.
Of course I believe in family values, better schools, energy independence, and social programs that work. Ah, I must be a Republican.
What?
But, the Democrat platform is about fairness, job creation, clean energy and education. Does that mean I'm a Democrat if I believe in those things?
Basically, the answer is No. I'm neither a Republican or a Democrat. I agree with the thinking and ideas of both parties on many points. In fact, if they would stop going by labels, I think more people would come to realize that both parties are basically the same.
Both major parties want a strong economy, good jobs, excellent educational opportunities, changes in our energy use. It is simply that often they don't agree completely on how to accomplish those goals.
Being a Democrat does not mean that someone doesn't have family values just as being a Republican doesn't mean that someone doesn't want to cut economic waste.
So, it doesn't matter to me. Democrat, Republican, Green Party ... they are all the same. We are all Americans who want to help strengthen our country and do what we can to make it even better.
We aren't always going to agree, but I'm not going to tout any party line here. I'm going to use my brain, think on the issues and follow my gut. As an American, our forefathers fought for those rights. I'm not about to take that for granted by blindly listening and following any particular politician or party.
I am free and I intend to stay that way.

Politically Incorrect
I admit it, I'm not the most politically correct person. In fact, you could say that I am unremorsefully politically incorrect.
I don't tout the party line. In fact, chances are I won't even mention a particularly part in my posts. Why? Because it's useless.
This blog is about my perceptions of the world around me. I know that my thinking is not always politically correct. More often than not, my way of thinking and looking at the world seems to be contrary to what is considered politically incorrect.
I'm a mom of some awesome kiddos. I've been at the top of the food chain, or rather comfortably upper middle class to being at the bottom, completely lower class. Things I've seen over the past twenty years has really shaped how I think. I've found my views have changed over the years as I open my eyes and take a better look around me.
We are all a product of our experiences. This blog is about sharing my opinions. I know that there are many of us out there. We don't say it for fear that we are not being politically correct. We don't say it in case of offending anyone.
Here's my chance to say it.
So, sit back and enjoy the read. Comment and let me know what you think. Your experiences also make you who you are. I try to be open to other views so feel free to share them.
